For our Second Season we plan to continue bringing you the very best possible enjoyment. We want to bring you special guests, surprises and thrills that you won’t find anywhere else. So please, set aside one Thursday a month and join us at the Pickwick where we promise to give you a treat every month.

2014/15 Schedule:

May 7, 2015 Why Be Good?

Why Be Good Marque

To wrap up the season, we present a very special Silent Film only recently restored and very rarely screened, Why Be Good? Why be good, indeed. Well you’ll just have to come to see. It stars the boisterous and beautifully cute Colleen Moore. Since it is a silent, you all will get the added treat of listening to our good friend Jay Warren play the organ through-out the film. But the fun doesn’t stop there. We have a very special guest. Colleen’s granddaughter Alice Hargrave will be with us. She will tell you what Colleen was really like and if we coax her enough she might tell us some private stories about this most special lady.

April 1, 2015 Ben-Hur

For Easter we decided that the Tale of the Christ should be shared with all. Though truthfully the man named Judah Ben Hur never lived the man who brought him to re-see his faith and bring his life back from evil to goodness, very much was. For this holiday we present the film that makes us all glad we were given a gift.

March 15, 2015 A Hard Day’s Night

Beatlemania comes to the Pickwick this month. We will provide you with the utmost in pre-show enjoyment. As you walk through our Art Deco halls you’ll be welcomed to the sounds of the Beatles cover band The Time Bandits. Then we’ll talk with Robert Rodriguez, a member of the band (Ringo), an author of more than half a dozen books on the Beatles and a Beatle scholar.

February 10, 2015 Casablanca

What would Valentines Day be without a little romance. Here at the Pickwick we believe in Love just as much as anyone and so we offer for your approval the greatest star-crossed lovers the world has ever known. Bogie and Bergman sizzle in this classic just in time for the holiday of love.

December 4, 2014 Gone With the WInd

We promised you this last year and through no fault of our own we were unable to bring it to you then. This year is different. This year we keep our promise and bring you Margaret Mitchell’s classic tale of the Civil War. Join us as we get dressed for the time that fashion was a state of mind and the Great South was king of Cotton.

October 30, 2014 Son of Frankenstein

CFS Handout SEPT14PRINT (1)

To celebrate Halloween in rare fashion we have several things planned for you. First we’ll have a costume contest for all the children with special prizes that fit the theme of the film. But even greater than that we will BRING YOU A STAR FROM THE FILM!!!  Little Donnie Dunagan who played Peter Von Frankenstein Jr. will be with us to tell us exactly what it was like to work with the greats of Hollywood. He’ll tell us stories of his time with Boris Karloff and Basil Rathbone. Then we will have a very special treat for you.

To begin the second season we will bring you what is considered by many a Bond Aficionado to be the greatest of all 007 adventure, GOLDFINGER! Not one to let our fans down we asked the Ian Fleming Foundation if they would like to help celebrate the film’s 50th Anniversary. They are more than happy to help, they are pleased and we couldn’t have asked for a better friend than our special guest Colin Clark. He brings a wealth of knowledge and something extra special. He’s bringing the REAL, honest to goodness JET STAR plane right into the theater. Don’t miss your chance to get your picture taken with this!
